Can we help you?

The understanding of how a product works and of its scope is the key to realize its possibilities and what it can do for you. This is what these FAQs are meant for.

FAQWelcome to eEvidence

Do you register the contents of the email?

Of course we do!

For the emails you send through eEvidence, we provide you evidence of its full contents, including its attachments, and of its acceptance by each intended recipient's mail server.

For the emails you receive through us, we provide you evidence of its full contents, as well as of where did the email come from.

For the emails you send to register@eevid.com, without other recipients, we provide you evidence of its full contents only. By the way, you should try it as a way for registering your important files!

In order to prove its content, unique hashes are calculated for the original email and for each digital file attached to the email. On the basis that different files will never return the same hash, the hash can be considered the digital fingerprint of the file from which it has been obtained. As long as a given file keeps returning the same hash, it means that the file is the one you sent and that it hasn't changed since.

There are many hash functions available for obtaining the hash of a given file. We use the SHA-256 standard, fully documented. Search the Internet for 'SHA-256 generator' to obtain the hash of any file you have previously sent to o through us: it will match the hash we have registered within the eEvid.Cert.

Thank you for asking!

"What do you mean by 'registered email'? Do you simply register the transmission of an email, as any email provider's already does, or do you really provide strong evidence of the exact contents of the email?"
